Armenian wrestlers at Rio Olympics 2016

Greco-Roman wrestler Arthur Aleksanyan won Armenia’s first gold medal at Rio Olympics.

The two-time reigning world champion defeated Cuba’s Yasmany Lugo in the final round of the  Greco-Roman wrestling tournament to win his first Olympic gold medal.

Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Mihran Harutyunyan won a silver medal at Rio Olympics 2016 at the men’s Greco-Roman 66kg final.

According to the “Admosphere Armenia” company’s measurement data on that day 36% of Armenian population watched the semifinal match, 62% the final match of Arthur Aleksanyan. Additionally, 34% of the population watched the semifinal match and 46% the final match of Mihran Harutyunyan.
